SIGMA FP L + Voigtländer Heliar 40mm photography gallery

Preliminary works with my SIGMA FP L

After doing test shots for months, I started the preliminary works for my second book. If you would like to know the differences between test shots and preliminary works, please read this blog post.

I need a visual style that will go well with the theme of the book. Not only that, I also need the style to be in harmony with my desires, so I can’t settle for less than what I truly want. All the photographs were created with the FP L + Voigtländer Heliar 40mm lens and are all straight of the camera JPEGs.

The FP L lacking a grain setting, I started to experiment with ISO noise. This photograph was created with ISO at 25600! I know the usual way is to get the ISO as low as possible to reduce noise but I like to be free to do what I want.

An old Parisian railroad from the 19th century was converted to a pleasant promenade. Reaching the end, a closed passage with the shiny and beefy chain attracted my eyes. It probably resonated more with my feelings than the calmness of the different shades of green.

The Géode in the public park of La Villette in the 19th district of Paris, is a photogenic structure with it round, mirrored surface that reflects heaven and earth.

A crow trying to break a chestnut on a grave at the Père Lachaise Cemetery. I love this sad and gloomy photograph.

SIGMA FP L + Voigtländer Heliar 40mm test shots

When I got my SIGMA FP L, I didn’t rush to create photographs with it. For months I have done just test shots to become familiar with my new camera and my Voigtländer Heliar 40mm lens. Below, you’ll find a selection of these test shots. They are all straight out of the camera, without any edits to improve or alter them.
